Now, more than ever, small weddings are making their mark on the wedding industry. This darling at-home micro wedding is definitely one that you won’t soon forget!

Despite the amount of times Karen and Patrick had to change their wedding plans, everything looked soothing. Even the weather blessed them with a cool July day.

An intimate ceremony was held at The Union Hall at Bar Marco, which was followed by an intimate reception at Patrick’s parents’ house, a place where the couple have shared many memories together. A sleek BHLDN gown adorned with modern lace and a plunging neckline made Karen’s dress perfect for the occasion.

The advantages of a private wedding

First of all, there are less guests which will allow you to prioritize on quality rather than quantity. The whole experience is hyper-personalized and the entire venue will be imbued with your personality. In this Pittsburgh micro wedding, the newlyweds’ ceremony was simplistic, stunning, and laid-back, which perfectly matched the overall style of the wedding.

Despite keeping things minimal, the couple wanted two things to stand out: food and flowers! A delicious catered menu was provided by Bar Marco and stunning floral arrangements were created by The Farmer’s Daughter Flowers. Take a look at these great photos from Oakwood Photo because they’re sure to make you smile!

Patrick & Karen

Their paths crossed at work since they were in the same department and seated nearby, but they didn’t start talking until they realized they went to the same church. ”As we hung out with mutual friends, we gravitated towards each other and our relationship progressed from there.” says Karen.

The rain poured down as Pat proposed at The Point. Pat suggested they hike to Point State Park with four of their mutual friends, even though Karen pointed out a black storm cloud that was looming. Then it all came together! A micro wedding was born…

For micro weddings, mixing and matching is often done in a more casual way. So choose a pants colour that contrasts with the jacket.

The classic suit for a perfect micro wedding

Does finding the right suit scare you? Or, you simply have no idea where to start your wedding journey?

Choose a classic wedding suit, which is the definition of timeless, one you will remember fondly. To match any wedding gown, we recommend black, charcoal, and navy suits. Weddings in these colours are considered the best alternative to formal tuxedos.

For Patrick’s micro-wedding, you can see in the pictures that he is wearing a grey suit, which gives him a more casual look. An added touch of colour is his green tie, which completes his classic micro-wedding kit.

Don’t forget, you can spice up any of these suits with accessories such as shoes, socks, or even a pocket square!
